In the spring of 1941, my grandfather was transferred from Fushun Girls' High School to Harbin Fuji Girls' High School (probably), and the family moved to Harbin. In September 2004 I visited Harbin. When I woke up in the morning, the Songhua River lay in the window of the hotel room. Beyond the river, there was a long horizon that made me feel the roundness of the earth. Suddenly, I realized the feeling of my grandfather and others for the continent and why they headed for the continent. I kept crying and shooting the continent outside the window.
The drawing of the iron bed in the Songhua River work was drawn in 2004 based on the episode of my mother who lay down on the iron bed and cried when she moved to Harbin in 1941.
